Stay Connected: Getting Your 2FA Secret Key
How to find and use the 2FA secret for persistent login.
The "Stay connected" option stores your credentials and 2FA secret (encrypted) so we can automatically verify when LinkedIn asks for a code. You need the secret key—the base32 string—not the 6-digit code.
Where to Find It
- During LinkedIn's "Authenticator app" setup, a secret key appears below the QR code
- It looks like:
ABCD1234EFGH5678...(base32) - LinkedIn shows it only once. If you didn't save it:
- Go to Settings → Two-step verification → Turn off → Re-enable with Authenticator app
- Copy the new secret when it appears

We encrypt your password and 2FA secret at rest. Never share these with anyone. Use Stay connected only on trusted devices.
